Preliminary and Training Area 8 Championships will be held at Penny Oaks HT on August 6-7.

The qualifying period will be August 4, 2010 to July 19, 2011.

Beginner Novice and Novice Area 8 Championships will be held at Stone Gate HT on September 24-25. 

The qualifying period will be September 1, 2010- September 6, 2011.

The 2011 Area VIII Championships are coming up – are you qualified??? Qualifications and other information for the Area VIII Championships has been updated to reflect easier and more streamlined qualification policies for our area championships.

For Area 8 residents, you can qualify for Area 8 Championships by placing 1st through 4th at a USEA sanctioned event in ANY AREA during the qualifying period.

For non-Area 8 residents, you can also qualify to ride in the Area 8 Championships by placing 1st through 4th at a USEA sanctioned event in AREA 8 during the qualifying period.

Please remember, qualified pairs may only compete in one Area's Championships per year.

AREA VIII CHAMPIONSHIPS POLICY

  1. All Area 8 Championship competitors MUST be current USEA members. Residency is determined by USEA membership.
     
  2. All horses MUST be registered with the USEA.
     
  3. All qualifying competitions must be USEA registered horse trials, two-day or three-day events.
     
  4. Divisions must have five or more starters to count as qualifying competitions.
     
  5. No horse may compete in more than one Area VIII championship in a calendar year. This restriction does not include the AEC or any national championship.
     
  6. List all qualifying competitions on your entry form.
     
  7. To qualify you and the horse must:
    For Area 8 residents, place 1st through 4th at a USEA sanctioned event in ANY AREA during the qualifying period.
    For non-Area 8 residents, place 1st through 4th at a USEA sanctioned event in AREA 8 during the qualifying period.
     
  8. Horse and rider must qualify together.
     
  9. Championships will be run as Open divisions but may be split into Horse and Rider divisions if entries allow. When entering, please indicate Horse or Rider classification on your entry form. 

NOTE:  It is the responsibility of the competitor to know the qualifications and terms of these championships and enter in accordance with those specifications. Competitors who have improperly entered a championship division will forfeit their placing and awards.
