 Think that WEG has all the volunteers they need?  Think again!  Even if you didn’t get the specific discipline job that you wanted, there are still volunteer positions that need filling.  WEG is still looking to fill eight different volunteer positions.  See below for a list of all open positions!  If you are interested, please contact Carrie Everett at ceverett@feigames2010.org, ASAP with your first two choices of job and date ranges and some of your experiences that make you a good fit for that position. We will let you know immediately what position you have been selected for. Athlete Services Desk(6+ days between 9/20-10/10): Assisting the athlete services department by taking requests, payments, messages from the International Chefs de Mission and Chefs d’Equipe. Experience with a cash register is a plus.Crossing Guard(select 1 or more date ranges below):  There will be 13 road crossings throughout the venue where horses must cross to get to their training areas and/or competition venues; we will have 2 volunteers at each crossing to stop the vehicle and pedestrian traffic each time a horse needs to cross. This will be aided by barricades to slow traffic leading up to the crossing.

Sport Equipment Assistant (6+ days 9/10-10/10): Working under the direction of the Sports Equipment Coordinator this position will be responsible for the delivery and management of sports/competition equipment, supplies, vehicles, office and communications equipment. Will assist with setup as required. May be required to lift heavy objects.  Work will be primarily outdoors regardless of weather. May also be required to maintain computer database. Knowledge and experience in specific disciplines is a plus.Field of Play Maintenance(6 day commitment between 9/10 and 10/10): Will work under the direction of the Field of Play Coordinator and the Footing Experts. Will be assigned to the KYHP staff responsible for maintaining the training areas. This will require arena set up, awards ceremonies set up, tear-down and up keep of all competition arenas and training areas. Must be able to listen and follow instructions accurately. Please indicate if you have experience with tractors, drags or water trucks.Field of Play Marshall(date ranges below):  FOP Marshalls will be responsible for assisting the Stewards in maintaining security of the field of play by allowing only individuals with the proper accreditation for that day onto the field of play.

Horse Inspection Steward(10/4, 10/5, 10/6): Horse Inspection Stewards will be under direction of Chief horse Inspection Steward and responsible to move the horses through the inspection process in an efficient and timely manner according to the procedure established by Competition Management. You will also be responsible for assisting with set up of the Horse Inspection Lane, placing flowers, chairs, tables, securing communications equipment.Horse Path Steward(Eventing 9/30, 10/1, 10/3 or Jumping 10/4-6, 10/8 &9): Horse path stewards will be responsible for monitoring the path connecting the stables to the competition arena. They will be rotated through their posts and directed by the Chief Steward of that discipline.Mixed Zone Steward(select one or more date ranges below): Mixed Zone Stewards will be stationed where competitors exit the competition venue by the media pen. There, you will assist Medical and Veterinary staff as needed. You will also work with Media to assure they get to interview and/or photograph riders while not endangering welfare of either horse or rider. You will ensure that no unauthorized personnel are in the Mixed Zone. You will assist Holding area stewards, if needed to assure no unauthorized personnel are in Holding Area. Finally, you will assist Doping Control personnel in facilitating notification of riders that they or their horses have been selected for testing.
