Announcing New Area VIII Select Program for Young Riders

Attention!

  • Are you a young rider between the ages of 10 and 21?

  • Are you competing Beginner Novice through Prelim?

If you answered yes to those questions then prepare to get excited!

Area VIII is creating a new section of the area Young Rider Program called the Area VIII Select. The goal is to identify individuals who have future potential for NAJYRC, but we all know you don’t wake up one day and start running a 1*! The Area VIII Young Rider Program has developed this exciting new opportunity to create teams for the Hagyard Team Challenge to simulate the team competition of NAJYRC.

Potential Select Riders are eligible to compete from beginner novice through preliminary levels. These select teams are meant to mimic the process of YR’s beginning with the paperwork process of sending in a letter of intent and a competition schedule. This schedule and letter of intent are not a commitment, just an opportunity. By sending in your letter you are expressing an interest in this program. If you decide you do not want to take part in the program, there is no commitment.

Looking forward to the weekend of competition there will be a team coach for each team. This coach will function the same way a coach at NAJYRC would function. You will be able to use your own coach if you wish, but the team coach will be available for warm ups, course walks, and support!

As the program continues to develop we hope to add more educational experiences such as mock training sessions, jogs, etc… Riders are encouraged to apply between January 1st and April 1st with the paper work below as well as a competition schedule . NAJYRC selectors will be utilized to select the teams. This is a new program Area VIII is putting together please feel free to email with any questions or comments.
