Area VIII YRAP Spotlight: Ruth Rosendaul

Recently 16, Ruth Rosendaul can technically ride a horse faster than she can drive! Ruth started riding when she was 8 with Lynn Boshart at a summer camp. Ruth cried the entire way home after the first day because she didn’t want to leave!

Ruth has been training with Angela Ariatti for 6 years. The Rosendaul family purchased Kaloosh from Angela 4 years ago this coming Christmas Eve, however, the pair’s partnership started 5 years ago when Koosh was leased to Ruth.

This season has brought blue ribbons from May Daze (Novice), USPC Championships in Tryon (Modified), Flying Cross (Training), and the Area VIII Championships (Training). Other highlights include riding in Rolex Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park for the Novice Championships at American Eventing Championships (14th place finish), Hagyard Midsouth Team Challenge (7th individual Training and team 3rd!), and attending Young Rider Camp South in June.

Ruth is a C1 at Ariatti Pony Club Center and hopes to rate up later this fall. She has also been nominated for a position on the Midsouth Pony Club’s regional youth board and is a Youth Ambassador for Midsouth Eventing & Dressage Association to increase junior involvement.

Ruth is looking forward to competing Training and Prelim next show season, as well as some Snowbird Dressage shows this winter.
